In the first five months of the year, the company increased its revenue by 5.3% compared to the same period in 2025.
The Peruvian company PROQUINSA (Productos Químicos Industriales), specialized in manufacturing and distributing chemical inputs, has been upgrading its plant in San Juan de Lurigancho to meet the growing demand from various industries for these products.
The company’s Chief Commercial Officer, Juan Carlos Zevallos, noted that sales growth is pushing the plant to its capacity limit. In response, the company is acquiring new equipment, optimizing processes, and expanding certain production areas to meet rising demand.
“Between January and May 2026, we increased revenue by 5.3% compared to the same period in 2025. This growth could have been significantly higher; however, we faced a strong impact from the drop in the exchange rate. We invoice in dollars, but most of our costs are paid in soles, which reduced our margins,” the executive explained to the Association of Exporters (ADEX).
PROQUINSA manufactures products derived from minerals such as Silicon, Sodium, and Potassium, including Sodium and Potassium Silicates, Sodium Metasilicate, and Sodium Bicarbonate. The company also operates a chemical distribution line aimed at various sectors, particularly coatings, inks, and paints.
In terms of customers, the main buyer is the detergent sector, although the company also has a significant presence in ceramics, mining, construction, welding, foundry, and cardboard. In the food sector, sodium bicarbonate is used primarily in baking, milling, pastry, and confectionery, as well as in cleaning.
Its offerings mainly reach Bolivia and Ecuador; likewise, it supplies customers in Chile, Uruguay, Colombia, and Central America, where it seeks to strengthen its market position.
“We are developing significant business in Honduras. Our distributor there has expressed interest in expanding coverage to Nicaragua. We also participated in the trade mission organized by ADEX to Guatemala and El Salvador, where we identified new opportunities,” he concluded.
